About

Angie Continisio, founder and yoga instructor of Kids Butterfly Yoga practices and teaches Kripalu yoga. Angie teaches toddlers, children, teens, adults and seniors. She teaches off site at local daycares, elementary schools, day camps, private homes and community centers.

Her experience and perspective on teaching yoga to children has been published in a variety of local newspapers and online newsletters/blogs, Today’s Parents magazine, as well as in the August 2011 issue of Canadian Living Magazine. Kids Butterfly Yoga was also featured on Montreal’s CTV News in March 2010.

Angie began her yogic path in 2007 when she turned to yoga to compliment her marathon training. She was instantly captivated by the manner in which yoga allowed her to feel physically stronger and mentally focused.

Angie's passion led her to become a certified yoga instructor so she could share with and teach others the gift of yoga. She believes that there is nothing more enriching in this world than being able to take the practice of yoga off of the mat and begin to really live yoga in the real world!

Angie has trained at United Yoga Montreal where she obtained her 200 hr Registered Yoga Teacher certification. She has also trained with Marsha Wenig, founder of YogaKids and is a certified YogaKids Teacher Trainer. Angie’s classes bring awareness towards breathing & integrates physical postures (Asana) and relaxation to stay present and positive. She keeps her class sizes small and safe, nonjudgmental and noncompetitive.

In 2009, Angie opened Kids Butterfly Yoga with the purpose of instilling in children and their families, the importance of physical and mental well being. In the fast paced society we live in, it is essential that children and adults learn how to ground themselves.

In 2012 she closed her studio to continue her studies and in 2014 obtained her DEC in Early Childhood Education from Vanier College, and is now a Montessori Teacher at Orchard House Preschool. Angie continues teaching yoga to children, including children with special needs, with a new perspective, taking child development into consideration. Please refer to her website or Facebook page for the dates, times and locations of her classes.
